Our Eighth Graders attended an Exploratory at Region Ten Technical High School on Wednesday, January 18th. They participated in some of the hands on programs they offer: building trades, welding fabrication, auto collision, early childhood education, and health occupations, just to name a few. It was also an opportunity to get to know Freeport Middle School students as we combined our groups.

In March our seventh graders will be attending a “Careers 4 ME” event at Central Maine Community College. There will be 1,200 other 7th graders from Androscoggin County who will be in attendance also. Each student will be listening to three career presentations based on choices he /she made online last week. When we arrive I will give them schedules with names of specific buildings and numbers of classrooms they need to travel to. An added benefit is that it gives our students an idea of what it is like to attend college.

Time: 5:30-6:00pm for Leveled Literacy Intervention Book Club students/families (room 120) 6:00-6:45pm for all students and families in grades 1-2 (cafeteria)
